I heard that if Fairy Tail did not get the attention like it does now, Mashima would have ended it at the Phantom Lord arc. That would pretty much ruin all the ships. Like a total shipwreck…😢 I just wanted to see what you think of this.

Oh my god I had no idea! That would be terrible! Especially since Gajeel is my favorite character and if the manga ended at Phantom Lord then we would never get to see his character development into the great character he is now

Mashima admitted once that he want planning to continue with Gajeel, but after the conversation between him and Natsu about their respective dads, he pretty much seen that Gajeel could become an ally because the conversation showed his good side
