-Shoutout to writers who spend hours on a chapter and get no views
-to those that have huge audiences and are pressured by critics
-to you who are just starting out
-To every one of you.
Whether u get 5 hits or 50,000 on a story, your skills are important and we all really, truly appreciate it
Keep it up, you talented lil fucks. I love you allSolidarity folks, solidarity
I reblog this pretty much once a month. As writers, we tend to get down on ourselves, feel self-conscious about our work, like we are talentless hacks, so why should we continue putting ourselves out there. This kind of feeling can be crippling, especially when it comes out of nowhere. Especially, when you pour your heart and soul into something you write—something you are enormously proud of— and then…nothing. It just sits, maybe stagnant, maybe a few people read it and review, but the feeling is there in the back of your brain nonetheless.
So, for any of you feeling like you are writing to the void today, considering hanging up that pen and paper (or laptop, smart phone, what have you), I hope this brings you a little bit of cheer and courage to keep going. Every writer, hell everyone who creates anything, needs encouragement from time to time.
This is such a lovely thing. ❤ ❤ ❤
