The Haunting Chapter 2

Author’s note: Here’s Chapter 2! This is where things get freaky.

Chapter 2: The Beginning

A few days had passed after you and Eisuke moved into the house. You and Eisuke were in your new home in-cinema, watching a few crappy comedies while wearing your pajamas.
“You seriously like this stuff?” Eisuke huffed.
“Yeah.” You chuckle “Sometimes its good to watch a few things that only get one star.” Just then, the actor did something that was out of this world.
“Is that logically possible?”
“I guess so.” You laugh. Just then, Eisuke’s phone rang.

“Ichiyomina.” Eisuke said into his phone “Are you serious? Can’t you do it yourself?!” You look at Eisuke with curious eyes “Fine.” he grumbles into the phone before hanging up “Got to be kidding me.”
“What’s wrong?” you ask him with worry in your eyes.
“Nothing to worry about.” he sighs “I just got to head in. They’re some fine details for The Grand Opening that they are too stupid to fill out; I have to head in and help out.”
“I’ll go with you!” You tell him while getting up to change your clothes.

“No _____________,” Eisuke says to you “It’s your time off. I know we were going to spend the day together, but I’ll be back tonight. Promise.” He gives you a quick passionate kiss and heads up stairs to change his clothes. You make the decision to do the same despite planning to stay in for the rest of the day.
“See you around dinner?” Eisuke asks you.
“Yeah.” You smile. He gives you another loving kiss.
“I can’t wait to eat your meals tonight and dessert.” and he gives you an all knowing wink before leaving in his limo to go to The New Tre’s of Spades.

The moment he leaves the house, you look around the house to find stuff to do. You did just get a new video game (that Eisuke doesn’t approve of because of it’s violence) that you’ve been dying to play. But before you play it, you make the decision to check the refrigerator for anything you can cook for you and Eisuke tonight. You place your cellphone on the counter and look at the inside of your fridge. So far, various meats, dango from home, instant ramen (wait, shouldn’t that be in the pantry?), various vegetables, a pitcher of water, sodas of different kinds, dairy products and some sweets. Maybe you should go out shopping and get some Cornish game hen will fill both your appetites tonight? Yeah, that sounds perfect! You close the fridge door and soon notice your cellphone missing. That’s odd, where could it have gone? Soon, your eyesight falls to the ground and there, you find your cellphone lying on the ground; fortunately it had it’s protective cover on, leaving it with no dent. Must of fell when I was looking for something to cook. You reason yourself. You grab your phone, your bag and leave for the local food market.

Thirty minutes after shopping, you arrive back home with groceries in tow. You place the Cornish game hens in the sink and begin to thaw them out of there frozen like state. While that occurred, you walked into The Living Room and began to play some music. You return to the kitchen and begin to boil some of the spaghetti you bought. You walk over to the fridge and grabbed some cold spices to spice the game hens with and some vegetables for you to cut up. You begin to take out the vegetables and cut them finely diced pieces. You hum to the tune of the song that’s playing, and it happens to be your favorite. Just when the best part of your song is going to happen, the music stops. You look up in surprise; did Eisuke come home earlier than anticipated? You check your phone and find no calls from him; what caused the music to stop?

You leave the kitchen and go into The Living Room, finding the Bluetooth machine playing the music off your phone turned off. You shrug it off thinking it was a power-surge, and turn the machine back on. You head back to the kitchen and continue to cook your dinner. You take the now thawed hens and begin to rub spices in it. When done, you turn the oven on and wait for it to heat up while you prepare the homemade gravy. While mixing the juicy spicy liquid, you hear the music turn off again. You let out a huff because Eisuke payed a lot of money for something like this. If this thing is broken, he’s going to be pissed. You look at the machine again and find that someone had turned it off.

Just when you were about to turn it back on; you feel something…or someone watching you. Your standing in your crouched position and your frozen with fear. How and when did someone get in the house, Eisuke made sure this house had top Grade-A security? No one can get in or out unless it’s the servants or owners; when it’s night, the only one who can get in is the owners. You feel your heart beating at an alarming rate. Just then, it ended. You breathe a sigh of relief before suddenly feel someone blow on your neck, you literally jump out of your skin and turn around when feeling that. What was all of that just now? Your phone rings snapping you out of your scared daze and you rush to answer it.

“H-hello?” you croak into the phone.
“________________?” Eisuke’s voice rings into the phone.
“Oh h-hi Eisuke.” you smile a smile of relief just hearing his voice.
“I’m going to be home in an hour. I figured you should know so you can get dinner started.”
“Way ahead of you. I got dinner in the oven already.”
“Good Girl. See you soon.”
“O-okay.” There was a moment of silence.
“Something bothering you?”
“Huh? Oh no, I got spooked by something. It’s nothing really, I’ll explain when you get home.” Another moment of silence occoured and then you hear Eisuke’s voice.
“Alright,” he responds “see you at dinner then.” with that said, he hung up. You let out a deep sigh and go upstairs to change out of your clothes into something more…..appealing to the eye.

Eisuke arrived an hour after you got off the phone and ten minutes before he walked through the door, you took the dinner table in your dining room and set it up for a romantic dinner together. Long red candles that were lit in the center, the two Cornish Game Hens on a platter along with mixed vegetables (no green  peas), two glasses of fine wine and a beautiful vegetable soup on the side. You were wearing your favorite black dress and had your hair slightly curled at the ends to add a fineness to them.
“It smells amazing in here ____________,” Eisuke said while removing his jacket and making his way to the table.
“I worked on it most of the day.” you smile. He dips his spoon into the soup and takes a taste.

“I knew that gourmet kitchen was a great investment for you.” Eisuke smiled before taking a bite of his game hen.
“Yeah,” you smile weakly “it really does help a lot.” EIsuke looked at you concerned.
“What’s wrong? Is something bothering you?”
“Well…..” You began to tell Eisuke how some weird stuff occurred today. From your phone mysteriously falling onto the floor, to when someone blew on your neck “I think my mind was playing tricks on me. Probably it’s because the house has a draft or two. I’m not sure.”
“You don’t think the house is haunted do you?” Eisuke suddenly asks.
“Wha? No!”
“Good, because ghosts don’t exist, they’re stupid stories told by kids to get you scared.” he said after taking a sip of his wine. You look down at your meal and continued to eat, you were unsure about what had happened today.

Both you and Eisuke continue your meal in silence. Eventually, your meal ends with the two of your in your pajamas, watching a movie in bed.
“How did it go with the set up for the Grand Opening?” you ask Eisuke.
“To be honest _____________,” he sighs “it’s going well but when I tell someone to do something, I expect them to do it! I mean, the theme colors for this hotel are gold and blue! What’s harder then that?!”
“Well, sometimes people make mistakes. Can’t be helped. That’s what makes us human.”
“You’re such an idiot some times, that’s why I love you I guess.” he was about to lean in to kiss you when he noticed you rubbing your arms “___________?”

“E-Eisuke,” You ask “is the AC on?” he looks at you confused.
“Not that I’m aware of.” he replies “Why? You cold?”
“A little, can you please check the thermostat?” Eisuke sighed and got up from the bed to check the thermostat.
“You must be going nuts, the temperature in here’s normal.”
“W-what? How is that possible?! It feels like it went down 30 degrees.”
“I don’t know, I can call a repair man tomorrow in case this happens again.”  Unsure of what to say, you nod and decide to watch the rest of the movie before finally falling asleep.
