It’s ok if you want to look at spoilers and all but don’t spread them around. Your spreading around doesn’t just include tumblr. Those spread spoilers make their way to twitter where people send them to Mashima. (and where the Japanese fans see them too)
And that makes him very upset. The Japanese are very very against piracy and illegal things. And also if they do continue getting spread around you can expect Mashima to take legal action and us all won’t be able to read ft anywhere else other than paying to see it on crunchyroll.
I totally agree with this Shadoo. It’s never fair to waste people’s hard effort in building up the suspense on something they’ve created like a manga. If one happens to come across a spoiler (depending on the circumstances) it’s usually fine, but if they make the problem worse by reposting it, then it’s no longer fine.
^ my point exactly. Thank you
I can’t stress this enough. I generally prefer not to reblog debates or drama on my blog, but this is among those I can’t help but bring into attention purely for the worry I feel for the whole franchise. Like with anything illegal or questionable; I personally couldn’t care less what an individual person chooses to do. That’s your choice to make. You have that right, I guess. I, however, am not the rest of the world. I’m pretty sure there’s a big portion of people who would not approve of any of it; but I digress.
By dragging someone else or a whole bunch of people into this actual illegal activity, you are denying all those people their own choice. You are overriding their desires with your own, and that’s not only uncool but incredibly selfish and plain awful. The more you spread, the more people are affected. Simple logic.
It’s okay if you’ve done it sometime and just didn’t realize; if you really feel bad for spreading spoilers before, it’s never too late to simply stop spreading and focus on other things. Continuing, however, is just gonna make you an even bigger asshole.
If the entire series is suddenly just cancelled, so many people will feel broken. Many found relatable characters, problems and all sorts of positive influence through the series; ripping it apart just because of someone’s harmful self-indulgence is just cruel.
This isn’t just about the fans either. As a storywriter, I can imagine the pain the mangaka goes through: Sharing your story with the world is many storywriters’ dream, and by doing these things you’re ripping that away from Mashima.
I know that I’ve repeated a lot that’s been said already and I might sound rude in my desperation but I really, really beg of you; Please, please at least let Mashima enjoy his own story that he himself chose to share. He doesn’t owe you anything; especially if you don’t support him financically at all and only danger his dream AND job.
Yeah c’mon guys. Spoilers aren’t cool. I’ve learned some Mangakas don’t get any sleep, barley eat healthy and lose time with family, just to bring us their hard earned work. Mashima works day and night to bring us Fairy Tail and bringing these spoilers to everyone not only ruins it for the fans but for Mashima as well. Part of being in Fairy Tail is to support your comerades’s dreams and hopes and by revealing these spoilers, you’re killing the spirit of the whole series. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come across spoilers. So please, consider Mashima’s feelings and if you really do love his work, don’t reblog spoilers, and or tweet him about it. And every now and then it doesn’t hurt to buy a volume or two 🙂
