These are pics of myself, reblogged by a porn blog, with my caption removed, a sexually illicit caption added, and a questionable short link that I do not dare to follow.
The use of my image as above is not something I have consented to. Nor is it something I will ever consent to.
I am not a camgirl. I do not want to fool around with anyone. And I do not wish to communicate with anyone in any sexual way.
There is one other instance to date of a porn blog reblogging my photos in this way, however, I could not find the permalink on their blog. The below screenshot was provided by my friend who first noticed these porn blogs sharing my photos.
Whilst searching through the porn blogs for my own images, I also found images of abuse victims and self-harmers to name but a few groups of people who I am sure did not upload their photos to Tumblr for pornographic purposes. I also, because these blogs tend to be ran by bots, happened across some random photo sets that were neither here nor there. But one that most sticks out, is an image set of a young Asian girl that my mom advised me not to post evidence of.
There is no option to report these posts or these blogs, however, blogs like this can prove to be very harmful. I can only imagine what the girl above or the victims and survivors would think if they realised how their images were being used. And what happens in the future if my baby niece or my boss or any significant other happens across these reblogs and mistakes them as real?
This is something that makes me incredibly uncomfortable and yet it is also something that will likely never be resolved. Nevertheless, I felt a need to make this post. Please share it. Please tell the Tumblr Staff that it’s about time they finally took action. Please….
