So I have a massively short attention span and shitty memory(which keeps me from other remembering fics and having the focus to even read them) so I don’t have any specific fics off the top of my head. There were several that Amaranth had written in the past that would have fit, but she has taken all of her stuff down for various reasons. I will say that if you are not familiar with @metalicana (who I believe is on hiatus) please please browse their works. Even if it’s not particularly what you have mentioned here, their writing style is exquisite. I’m also going to throw out @spikerr and @aya-eisen as just being writers in general that I recommend.
SO, I’m gonna post this for all my wonderful friends and followers to self-promote or promote each other if they know of a fic that fits what Anon seeks! Have at it and check the notes, Anon :]

@sketcher1994 has several AUs (which I haven’t finished yet) Check out “His Brother’s Girlfriend’s Neighbour” – modern AU with awkward Gajeel and awkward Levy. Fluffy!
@arriyire has an on-going AU fic “Learn to Fly” that surprises you with every chapter.
@moonbeammadness Oh God, where do I start? Angst, action, smut, fluff, character development… Several great stories. Right now has “The Walled Garden” as on-going but my favorite will be “Between” [*whispers* Council series] (in their ffnet account)
@murdered-with-daisies has an AU fic “An Iron Grip” with an interesting plot idea!
@chesxca-c author of long fics but so well-paced (check for their ffnet account here)
@neen-writes obviously highly recommended writer!! So beautiful AU’s. Personal recommendations: “Prince Mononoke” “Iron Legends” and “Down the Rabbit Hole”

@riverofmemoriesft has great GREAT fics! Can’t name all of them but “The Game of Life” and “Obsessive Impulsive” are two of my favorite stories! Great suspense, descriptive and oh the angst!!!
@legends-of-nisty has so many stories! Both one-shots and multi-chapter fics. Love their Mulan-AU fic.
@otakugirlkrod has an on-going action fic with a really interesting plot. She plays with the suspense during her story “Three years have passed”
@snowmadien their story “Cirque du Fairies” is so GOOD!! Fluffy, angsty and protective Gajeel and Lily! Also, they have several really good one-shots
@gajeelswoman their stories follow the canon-verse and give so much insight to Levy and Gajeel’s development (as individuals as well as a couple). Their ffnet account here!
Writers with one-shots you should definitely check out! @blacksteelsolidscript @hazel-got-fanfiction (several pairings; here) @writingissues (Oh, so many one-shots!)
And I’m just going to throw three of my favorite authors from FFnet! Miss Mungoe, kurisu313 and Kitani [if you go and leave a review for Kitani, tell them I sent you (Where’sTheFood)]
Finally, I’m also a fanfic writer for Gajevy (I use the tag #where’s the food fanfiction and you can find me too in ffnet with more recommended FT stories as Favorites)
Some of these writers are quite experienced but most of us are newcommers to being fanfic writers. Still, all of them have great potential! Give all of us a chance and go read our work and give us your love!
