Story time

snowmadien:

So today honestly was a day I didn’t think that I would truly see the real nature of people. So I’m coming home after I picked up my little bro from the park and we and we are crossing this bridge. As we pass, I noticed that there was a man just standing there leaning over the side. Now I don’t know how many of you have seen or actually been there when you think someone is going to jump but it is just scary and to top things off the road that we are on is a busy highway that is known, I mean Known to being dangerous for reckless driver and speeders. So I pulled over and told my brother to call 911 as I did first I’m nearly hit by someone who was passing us, and he honked the horn at me. Now what didn’t upset was the fact he tried to kill no. What made me angry is that he didn’t see that I was trying to cross the damn road to help someone who looks ready to end it all.  When I do manage to get to this guy, he was crying and cut up like someone threw a beer bottle at him.

I am trying now to talk to him asking, do you need someone? Do you need me to call an ambulance? Those kinds of questions. And this grown man is crying, I mean crying and thanking me for actually trying to help.

A few seconds later he has a friend pick him up and take him home, but what struck a deep chord in me was the fact that no one else cared. No one stopped to see him, no one stopped for me to try and help him. So now I realize why people jump, why people do it. It’s because no one ever stops, people don’t slow down and see what’s wrong.

Holy shit.
