I think I’m gonna be sick. I literally feel in my stomach I’m gonna be sick.
My way of celebrating chapter 487!!!! My jaw literally hit the floor when I read Gajeel’s confession. So to celebrate, I made a victor kiss and wanted to go with a water color feel!
The inked and colored version of my earlier sketch.
If Gajeel (and the other Fairy Tail menz) did a spread for Sorcerer Weekly. *fans self* Not half bad if I do say so my own self. Did the coloring more cel-style, though still with the ‘copic marker’ tool settings. Came out ok, I think.
(✿ ♥‿♥)
All you Gajeel fangirls(boys) out there, enjoy yourselves.
Bradman: “Thou has made a bad choice in facing me. For thou must see, I am dea-”
Gajeel: “Shut up pal! You hear that?”
(Everyone stops for a second and listens)
Levy: “I-it sounds like a train whistle.”
(The train Whistle gets louder and louder until a train appears and runs over Bradman. The train continues passing and runs him over until comes to a complete stop, on the side of the train is says “The Gajevy Train”, I open the door dressed as the conductor)
Solid color is okay but it can’t be white (might change depending on the idea chosen)
Must be entirely your own
No tracing or heavy reference to manga/anime panels/screencaps
Last year, we had someone trace a character even though there were many people who wanted to draw that character and do him justice
Outfits do not have to be canon
Must stay in character
Last year someone drew a very elegant and serious character skateboarding. Don’t do that.
Example: No drawing Laxus in a tutu (which one of our mods may or may not be guilty of doing), Meredy as a basketball player, etc. Try to avoid portraying characters in a way that is totally out of character.
Nothing NSFW
You may sketch out your idea and email us for approval if you’re not sure, email will be given on request depending on which mod wants to approve of it.
Entries must be submitted by the deadline
Maximum of 48 hours may be extended for individuals as long as they ask 24 hours before the deadline
No late-entries are allowed no matter the circumstances
Last year we had an entry that was half an hour late but at the time the whole project was already completed so it was not accepted.
No shipping/non-canon romance allowed
canon couples such as Alzack with Bisca and Ren with Sherry are allowed.
This means no Nalu or Gruvia. We want to try not cause any conflict.
All skill levels are welcome! That was what we loved so much about last year, the differences in styles and skill was fun to see!
Admins have the right to decline your entry if it breaks any of these rules
Rules are subject to change
IDEAS
This year the admins have several ideas on how to celebrate the 10th anniversary, so we wanted to open it up to the public to see what you guys wanted to do. The goal is to make everyone excited about the idea and we know there were some people who were not happy with last year’s format.
RED – Each participant gets to pick a character and draw that character (just like last year!)
ORANGE – Each participant gets to pick a character and draw their favorite scene with that character (such as Natsu going NIN NIN during his first mission with Lucy (maybe not as stupid as this scene) or Lucy getting her Aquarius stardress (more like this scene in that it’s your favorite and it’s important to Lucy/the story))
YELLOW – Each participant gets to pick a character and draw that character; however, another participants gets to color that drawing (chosen randomly)
BLUE – Each participant gets to pick an important scene of the story and draw it (examples include that some important Tenrou arcs are Acnologia coming, Natsu meeting Zeref, and fighting Hades)
Note: We understand that it will be a difficult challange to pick scenes that everyone will find important. The admins will try their best if this idea is picked and we will be open to anyone contesting an idea.
The admins will try their best to include as much characters as we can but understand that many scenes will include Natsu and Lucy due to their main character roles.
PURPLE – Two participant gets to pick a character but one participant draws the character’s first appearance and the other participant draws the character’s most recent appearance
TIMELINE (subject to change depending on idea chosen)
May 16 – Announce 10th Fairy Tail Anniversary
May 16 – Sign-ups and Poll for Ideas are open
Signing up and voting for the idea will be public on the Google Docs that way we know who is participating and what you’d like. We’d also would like it if you could give a small reason as to why you’re choosing that idea (optional: also add why you wouldn’t like any of the other ideas). However, once you sign-up we are expecting you to participate in the collab even if the idea you chose was not the popular option.
May 23 – Sign-ups and Poll for Ideas are closed
May 26 – Participants can start choosing their character/scene
Choosing characters/scenes will be first-come-first serve and character/scene selection will open around 12:00pm HST (Hawaii)
June 19 – One month reminder
July 2 – Two week reminder and ask if anyone can’t finish
July 17 – Last call for extensions
July 19 – Receive all pictures
We’re planning to receive all pictures two weeks before the actual anniversary in case someone drops out and we need someone to fill the holes. Hopefully that someone will be an artist who didn’t sign-up in time during the sign-ups in May because we want only one character/scene per person. Worst-case scenario, an admin will fill the hole.
We will go into full detail how you can submit your entires closer to the date.
July 21 – Receive late entries
July 26 – Finish the collab
We’re planning to finish the collab one week before the actual anniversary in case anything happens in the next 2-3 months. This gives us some leeway for any unexpected circumstances. However, deadlines still need to be met and any extensions due to unexpected circumstances will be announced and the 48 hour extension is given to only those who tell us 24 hours in advance (this event may be for fun, but deadlines are still important).
August 2 – Submit the collab to Tumblr and Twitter
