Truth or Dare

WARNING: NSFW

This is a one shot for Gajevy (GaLe, whichever you prefer to call it). This is technically my second time writing something like this (first is in Date with Destiny) so please be gentle and enjoy. *hides blushing face and runs* Please let me know what you think. Silence will make me regret…

“… What?” Levy McGarden stared at her friends like a deer in headlights, her mouth slightly open with a tinge of red crossing her cheeks. Across from her, Lucy, Erza, Gray, Juvia, and all the Exceeds awaited her performance.

“I. Want. You. To. Sing!” Lucy repeated, stressing each word so her friend would understand in her daze. They were having a party at Lucy’s, a game of Truth or Dare at Erza’s demand, not request, had begun. The very second she was asked, Levy blurted out dare in fear of what sort of racy questions would have been asked about her and Gajeel. They had been going out for quite some time after Gajeel’s confession when he’d saved her and since then they had been together. Between Erza and Juvia, she’d expected it, what with Erza’s interest in raunchy novels and Juvia’s infatuation with Gray. She wasn’t sure with Lucy and didn’t want to regret finding out the hard way. Her eyes scanned her friends’ faces, a terrible feeling in her gut making her feel like she could faint at any moment. She silently thanked Erza’s thirst for alcohol which had been why Natsu and Gajeel were currently missing, being the errand boys sent out by the redhead against their will. Even still, it had already been quite some time, making Levy nervous all the more that they could show. Maybe Natsu was picking a fight. A giggle could be heard, bringing Levy back to reality and causing her face to become even brighter. She began stammering, playing with her bangs.

“If you don’t, you’ll have to suffer punishment. Turning it down would be unwise,” the redhead replied with a most devious look in her left eye, her right being covered by her hair as usual. This only caused Levy to trip over any words more, feeling rather faint.

‘Perhaps I should have just sucked it up and went with truth…. Oh I always hated this game. Damn you, Erza, and your sadistic streak!’

“And remember, it has to be for at least a full minute,” Gray reminded them. Gee, thanks… Sing… they wanted her to sing… She had always been terribly shy, her throat clenching with stage fright. She stumbled to her feet, trying to hide her red face. The others stared at her intently, only making things worse as she tried croaking out a few of the first words. They caught in her throat, causing her to cough and try again. She kept her eyes closed to help, though she could still feel their looks. She didn’t want people to know she could hold a tune, not liking being the center of attention. Still, her fear of what the punishment could be fueled her to complete this challenge. Everyone stayed quiet, mesmerized at their tiny friend’s pretty voice. Once she had finished, she let out the rest of her breath in a sigh, feeling like she could raise the temperature of the whole apartment with her body alone. She was so glad that…

“Oh! Natsu, Gajeel.. you’re back,” someone said, causing Levy’s head to snap up, her eyes wide. Natsu was beaming, mentioning how good Levy sounded as he hauled in bags but she didn’t hear a word. All she could do was stare at her boyfriend, seeing his face tinted pink at catching her in the middle of her song. Gajeel had tried getting her to sing for him before, with her lying and saying she couldn’t. Now she was here, trying to avoid whatever plots her friends had by doing Lucy’s dare. Between him hearing and the wash of emotions from being forced to do something she wasn’t comfortable with, she felt horrible. Tears formed at the corners of her eyes, her body propelling forward and trying to escape the apartment.

“Levy-chan!”

“Oi…” She froze as her arm was snagged, her gaze meeting his red eyes. “Tch, we’ll be right back,” Gajeel murmured putting the bag he had on the floor before pulling her into the complexes’ hallway. She began fiddling with her bangs as he closed the door, separating them from the others. Inside, they could hear Natsu starting a fight with Gray already, the background noise helping. “What’s wrong, shrimp?”

Iron Legends — Reforged: Chapter 19

neen-writes:

Series: Fairy Tail

Characters: Gajeel, Levy, plus appearances from Natsu and Lucy.

Genre: Hurt/comfort, Sci-fi

Summary: The old lab had always been fuel for a good story, something you would half-heartedly joke about going to sometime.  Some did, and when they came back they never talked about it again.  The legends circulated, telling of ghosts, monsters, and anything else someone would be likely to conjure up about an abandoned building.  But even with all the stories meant to keep everyone away, there are still those for whom the intrigue is too tempting.

Read the Reforged chapters on FFnet here, Ao3 here, and read the entire original story here!!  AND find this fic’s soundtrack here!

Note: FINALLY.  I’m so excited to finally post this one.  Essentially, this is an entirely different chapter.  And I am so much happier with what I did with this one, and closed up a lot more ends than the original.  Now, I am still working on the epilogue, which is still giving me plenty of trouble, but I figured I would post this even though it isn’t finished as this gives quite a bit of closure and ending to people that follow this.  Whoever is left that this point lol…but anyway, I really hope you all enjoy this, and the changes I’ve made.  I’ll be updating Ao3 and FF with this chapter sometime later today.  And finally, tagging my reading/support squad cause they give nothing but encouragement when I need it :] @spikerr @smartcookie727 @whereisthefood123 @bluuesparrow @capaleran2

Igneel wasn’t able to compose himself enough to say something for nearly a minute.  Instead, he slowly slid his gaze to the now dark-faced woman who was supposed to help them with this.  The others had been damaged, uncooperative, but all of them at least knew who they were.

Mira may have been weighing her words, or she was quiet for the same reason Igneel was: this was a huge curveball, and now they had to readjust everything.

The silence, of course, did not sit well with Gajeel, who glared at them both, slack-jawed.  “What the shit have I woken up into.  Am I even here?  Why the fuck won’t you talk to me!” he snarled, choking on his breath soon after.  A nurse tried to approach him with an oxygen mask, but he threw her such a wild glare that she recoiled.  The lack of answers alone were enough to piss him off, but he had also been made suddenly aware of how empty his head was.  He had no idea how he got here, what they were talking about, and worst of all, who he even was.

Due to personal reasons, The Devil’s Contract will be on temporary hiatus

It’s nothing really personal, my life is going good and everything. I’m just having a lot of issues with the series. I’ve been doing this series for half a year and personally, I’m not that thrilled with it. I’ve been having way more writer’s block than the average fanfic writer and I want to take a break with it. No, I’m not saying I’m quitting fanfic or the story. I want to take a break from it. I’ll be posting One-shots I had on the back burner for a while to keep up.

Personally, it’s gotten to a point I want to work on other fanfic projects and I want to end the series. I want to take some time to think this over and see where I want to go with this. I hope you guys understand.

Thank you!

The Secrets of Levy McGarden

nerdiewriter:

“Gajeel I would just leave it be, I can’t tell you why, that’s her decision, but you’re gonna wanna give her some space,” Mira says quietly as she fills up his glass once again.

Gajeel had been talking to Mira for about half an hour, trying to convince her to tell him why the Shrimp hadn’t shown up. Levy had been quiet all this week but today she wasn’t even in the guild. Gajeel had asked everyone what was going on but all he got were a few sad looks and requests to ask her himself. Gajeel was going insane, he couldn’t stand not being able to get straight answers from the people in the guild, especially when it came to his Shrimp. Finally, Gajeel had made up his mind to go see her himself, he was going to get answers and if he couldn’t get if from the guild he’d definitely get it from the source.

“Levy open up!’ Gajeel yells as he pounds on the door, he had been waiting outside her apartment with no answer for 5 minutes and he was finally getting fed up. Her smell was still fresh so he knew that she was still in there. Slowly the door opened to a disheveled looking Levy. Her hair in unorganized curls around her face, her cheeks stained with tears from her bloodshot eyes and the extra large shirt that hung off of her that ended just under her ass telling him that she probably hadn’t been out much.

“What do you want Gajeel..?” Levy asks quietly as she looks down at his feet. Gajeel was shocked to see the state he was in. Her normally bright smile and cheery tone nowhere to be found.

“Whats going on Shrimp?” He asks quietly as he stares at her face, wanting to be able to gauge her reaction.

“I don’t know that you’re talking about…Look I’m kinda busy, can we talk later?” She asks as she moves to close her door, only to be blocked by his foot.

“Wa-”

“Don’t give me this crap Lev, you’ve been quiet and distant this whole week. I wanna know what happened and I’m not leaving till you tell me what happened,” He growls only to freeze when Levy looks up at him with tear-filled eyes.

Levy turns around, motioning Gajeel to follow her as she goes and takes a seat on her couch. Any other day Gajeel’s eyes would have been glued to her perfect backside, but today he was too worried.

They sat in silence for a minute, Levy with her knees pulls nervously to her chest and Gajeel who was now nervously playing with his hands.

“You know how most of us have been in the guild since we’ve been little kids?” Levy says suddenly as she stares down at the floor, unable to look Gajeel in the eyes as he nods in agreement.

“Well that’s cause most of us are orphans, you already know about Natsu since he was raised by Igneel, Cana’s mother died when she was young though she still had Gildarts, same with the Strauss siblings. Most everyone knows everyone’s story…but I..I’ve only told Mira and Erza mine…” she says as her lip starts to quiver, tears slowly starting to collect in her eyes. Gajeel slowly reaches for her hand and squeezes it softly, trying to comfort the small girl as best as he could.

Levy takes a deep breath before continuing. “Makarov found me when I was really little, 3 at most, I actually think I might have been one of the youngest people to ever be in the guild before Asuka. Both of my parents were extremely powerful, they had taken out a bunch of dark mages and made a lot of enemies along the way,” Levy says before cringing at the memory of all the enemies her amazing parents had made.

“Well after they found out that they were gonna have me they had to slow down, especially cause my mom couldn’t cast any spells without endangering me, they wanted to have a family and not have to worry about the dangers or missions anymore, so my mom started to take translation jobs.” Levy laughed quietly under her breath.

“Funny how they wanted to make things safe…they would have been fine if they didn’t.”

Gajeel sat quietly as he listened to the girl, noticing how hard Levy was squeezing his fingers though she kept her voice as steady as she could.

“One day my mom had to translate a book for the council, it was in some rare language that only about..10 people know in existence. Well, there was a dark guild that wanted the book so they came after my parents. They went on the run for a little bit, trying to wait for things to slow down. Well, one day they found my parents, tortured the hell out of them for the translation of the book. Well, one day my dad finally snapped, they had threatened my mom with a knife, said they were gonna kill her if they didn’t find out which one could translate the book. My dad said that he was the one who could do it, giving my mom and I a chance to escape alive. My dad died there and my mom and I were on the run for another 3 months. They eventually caught her and they brutally tortured her…I-I had to watch..” By now Levy was sobbing and shaking slightly, her chest heaving as she tried to collect herself.

Gajeel was frozen in shock, he couldn’t believe that his Shrimp had been through this, well not his, but still he couldn’t believe it. She had been through so much at such a small age. Anger rushed through his veins as he thought of how he wanted to make the bastards who did this pay.

“They left me for dead since I was only 3 and didn’t stand a chance outside, especially since I didn’t show any signs of magic. Makarov found me bruised and crying in the woods one day while he was on a walk with Laxus. He brought me to the guild and I’ve been a part of it ever since. They thought I had been too young to remember it but a few weeks ago I read something on a job and it just all came back to me. Makarov seems to think that the language might have been the one that my mom had read and I possibly retained seeing it from when I was little. Wendy and Freed have been using calming spells on me to keep me sane but they went to missions this week so I’ve been staying at my house.”

Gajeel stares at Levy, his eyes wide with shock as he went over everything that had just been revealed to him.

“Holy shit Shrimp…I- I’m so sorry, no one should have to watch that…” he mumbles as he squeezes her now shaking hand.

“I..It’s fine..just please don’t tell anyone, I don’t want anyone to find out. Master just told everyone that I’ve been having panic attacks from a mission so that they leave me alone but I don’t want them actually to know.”

Gajeel nods in understanding before noticing how tired Levy looked, bags were starting to form under her eyes and she was starting to lean on his shoulder.

“When was the last time you slept Lev?” he asks nervously.

“Uhhh..3 days..,” she mumbles quietly.

“Jesus shrimp you need to sleep!”

“I..I can’t..” Levy mumbles sadly. “I..I’ve been having night terrors”

Gajeel hesitates slightly. “I’ll wake you up if you have a nightmare, I promise.,” he says as he puts his hand on her shoulder.

“Really, you’d stay just so I can sleep?” She says as she looks up at him with adoration, the shine in her eyes returning for a minute.

Gajeel nods as he ruffles her hair. “I promise, I’ll stay here the whole time.”

Levy smiles before laying her head on his lap, curling up like Lily on one of his good days.

Gajeel’s eyes widen as he looks at the small girl on his lap, trusting him enough to fall asleep with him there.

“Thank you.."Levy mumbles before closing her eyes and falling asleep in his warmth.
