What REALLY made Zeref put Natsu in Igneel’s care.

Igneel: “So my friends and I are planning to destroy Acnologica.”

Zeref: “Wow, really?”

Igneel:”Yeah so my friends and I are planning to raise orphaned children and teach them magic and then transport ourselves into their bodies and go to the future. Metalicana and the others adopted kids already so I was wondering if you’d let me adopt Na-”

Zeref: “Take him.” (Igneel looks at Zeref in shock)

Igneel: “Really? You’re ok with th-”

Zeref: “The little sh*t’s a pain in my ass! I love him but for f*ck’s sake it literally takes a village to raise this kid! do you know he refuses to learn how to read and write?!”

Igneel:”Well, did you try reverse psycholog-”

Zeref: “Either way he does what he wants! Stay here, I’ll be back in an hour.” (Zeref leaves and comes back with Natsu)“Here! He’s your problem now!” (Zeref leaves and Natsu and Igneel are staring at each other.)

Natsu: “Are you my babysitter?” (Igneel is unsure of what to say.)

Igneel:”Yeah. I am.”

Note that Cana and Gray got tattoos/marks on their right forearms when they acquired new powers (Fairy Glitter and Ice Demon Slaying Magic respectively). And after the timeskip, Natsu had his right forearm bandaged and, according to a certain colored cover (I am unsure which) under the bandage is a pretty chill tattoo similar to Cana and Gray’s. 

Did Natsu acquire new magic sometime along the one-year timeskip?

I say it’s possible. It could explain why he and Happy chose to leave Lucy behind in the dark (and the whole Fairy Tail too, basically), why Natsu attained extreme power-ups and much more magical stamina. It’s also possible that his powers as E.N.D. are showing up or has already shown up.

Any more theories on this?

Igneel could of left him some of his power as well! Like how Gray’s dad did!
