Opinion on Seven Deadly Sins Knights of Britannia
Ok, I got this game as a late Christmas gift from my folks since the game didn’t come out in America until a few days ago. I only got to play with it for a certain amount of time last night since I have an early start today, and I did have some time today to work on it; but I did manage to get a small portion of the game done. Here’s my rating:
Warning: spoilers ahead!
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics are phonomenal!!! They have such detail to them and everything has such vibrant color to them, the game designers have done such a fantastic job with capturing Nakaba Suzuki’s art style and giving it a three dimensional style that compliments the art style extremely well. The color scheme has such a deep tone but also such a vibrantness that you can’t help but say it’s beautiful!
Story: 6/10
The main point of the game is that it follows the storyline of Part I and a slight amount of Part II. Since it’s a fighting game, they sped up the story and the scenes to give the player the gist of what’s going on in the storyline of the series. They also added some storylines of their own design that interlude to the different arcs. Such as Hawk freaking out that there is little to no scraps left over at the Boar Hat and goes as far as to fight Meliodas. Since I just got the game, I only reached to Baste Dungeon Arc and managed to get Ban to rejoin the seven deadly sins. I give it a six out of ten because it does give us the storyline, but it’s rushed quite a bit to where we miss a little of the funny quirky moments we’ve seen in the series, but I’m letting it pass since it’s a fighting game and the designers want to get to the point of that portion of the game.
Controls: 9/10
When I started my first battle in the game, they gave me a picture of the PS4 controller and pointed the buttons that do attacks, jumps, or high powered attacks. It was a bit confusing at first, but after the first few battles, the controls become much easier to understand and easier to control. As time goes on they add more to it such as the ability to defend yourself, call for help, etc. Otherwise, they’re very easy to use but will need to take a fight or two to remember the controls.
Level Of Difficulty: 9/10
Since I’m in the early stages of the game, the level of difficultly is pretty easy. I only managed to have slight trouble with two levels in the game: a trial where you play Hawk and have to defeat close to sixty Holy Knights within 130 seconds. My highest score was close to 20,000 and I defeated most of them with 17 remaining. The other level I managed to win my first try but was a bit challenging. In the second difficult level I was to face Ban as Meliodas during the Baste Prison arc and almost got creamed by the Fox Sin of Greed. I imagine this is only going to get more complex as the game progresses, but once you develop a method and get a better understanding, you’ll be sure to suffice!
Talismans: 5/10
I haven’t gotten a chance to fully use the talismans in the game just yet. You pretty much win items in the game to craft magical items (talismans) which will be used to help make your characters much stronger. I gave this a five out of ten because I haven’t fully become aware of how to create talismans or to even equip them and since the game progresses to much more difficult levels, talismans and magical items are going to be needed in order to win further levels.
Overall rating: 9/10
The game has lot going for it and I do personally recommend it. Some things like minor glitches or upgrades will come out over time, but otherwise for its first week in America, the game is a pleasant way to pass time and I would recommend it for any Sins fan!
